Cycling tours in Annecy and Haute-Savoie

In order to better accompany you during your stay in our beautiful area of Lake Annecy, here is a small list of our favorite routes to discover by bike starting from our shop in Doussard.

Either electric bike, mountain or town bicycle, everything is possible by bike around Annecy and its region! Have a good trip!

Hybrid - Electric bicycle routes starting from Doussard

1. Lake Annecy tour

A must-see tour in the Haute-Savoie region.

Go in the direction of Duingt / St Jorioz. The cycle path was built on an old railway track. Water and relaxation points are provided at the Duingt climbing cliff (you can admire climbers there), then at Bredanaz where an old locomotive is on display. This portion of the ride is fun and safe for children.When you arrive in Annecy, either turn around or continue through TalloiresThe end of the cycle road is still under construction. So be careful when you are on the road and adapt the tour according to the age of your children.

Petit conseil : N’hésitez pas à glisser serviette et maillots dans votre sac afin de faire une petite pause baignade !

2. The Belvedere of the Col de la Forclaz

A variant of the lake tour for the more athletic bikers, with a short passage through the Col de la Forclaz.

Two options if leaving from our store in Doussard: start or end with the pass!

  • Towards Faverges, then to Vesonne, start climbing the pass. On this side, the slope is quite steep ...
  • Towards Annecy, to start with the tour of the lake, then end with the Col de la Forclaz from Talloires. The climb is a bit longer on this side, but much less steep and therefore more accessible.

When you arrive on the pass, you can admire the breathtaking view of Lake Annecy with, in the sky, a large number of paragliders, and in particular wings from K2 Parapente !

3. Tour of la Tournette

A nice climb for seasoned cyclists. It's up to you to choose the direction: either towards Annecy or towards Faverges.

If you are heading towards Faverges from Doussard: in Faverges, take the direction of Serraval, col du Marais. A nice gradual climb awaits you between the Aravis mountains on your right and the Tournette mountain on your left. You will undoubtedly be able to admire the summits with a few paragliding wings which will try to do the same tour, but by air!

Do not hesitate to take a short break in Thônes, the world capital of reblochon and a traditional Savoyard village that is worth the visit.

4. Green path of Lake Annecy

A historical family ride.
The green path of Lake Annecy is one of the oldest greenways in Europe. It allows you to make a return trip from Annecy to Albertville on the old railway line.

This is a bicycle route with various landscape, with a part along the lake Annecy. The itinerary goes forward to Alberville, in Savoy.

Remeber to bring your swimsuit for a short swimming break in the lake.

Mountain bike paths starting from Doussard

1. The postman's path

A beautiful introduction to mountain biking with children.

This all-terrain route is very rolling and accessible. You will ride along streams, pass through hamlets, forests, the golf course of Giez, you will come across bridges, washhouses, chapels ...

At the canyon of Montmin, you will certainly see enthusiasts of whitewater rafting.

Do not hesitate to ask the K2 Outdoor team for advice on routes and Scott mountain bike rental for children.

2. Run with the flow

A slightly longer variant of the mailman's path.

This loop begins with the same route, crossing bridges, rivers and various hamlets. The route extends its path towards Faverges, where a quick visit of the castle is needed!

3. The balcony

An Itinerary for sportive climber cyclists.

You climb to Plan Montmin in the forest, with beautiful waterfalls depending on the season. You will be on the old Montmin road. The downhill on the St-Ferréol side is quite technical with some narrow switchbacks.
